Arbutus Walk is a small but nice residential area of Kitsilano, located between Arbutus St and Vine St in Kitsilano. The area has it’s fair share of restaurants and shops to serve the community, and you’re only a few blocks from the stretch of West Broadway (west of Larch St) where you’ll find even more shops, restaurants and amenities. In the summer, the Kitsilano Farmer’s Market parks itself in the parking lot of the Kitsilano Community Centre, making it a quick walk for residents of Arbutus Walk to indulge in the season’s best offerings from Lower Mainland Farmers. Further down Arbutus St, just south of King Edward, is the small “King Edward Mall” with a Safeway, Liquor Store, and other shops to fulfill any need you may have.

Restaurants in Arbutus Walk
I wanted to feature a couple notable restaurants in the Arbutus Walk Area.
Gramercy Grill – Restaurant in Arbutus Walk
Gramercy Grill is a Kitsilano Staple. Serving delicious food in a casual but nice setting makes it a go to for a nice Sunday meal, Friday night dinner, weekend brunch or a nice weekday lunch. The food is well priced for the quality, and offers everything from great salads to pasta dishes to nicely cooked meat. For dinner, I highly suggest sharing the Burrata, starting with a delicious salad (which changes with the seasons) and then enjoying the Clam Linguine, if available.
For more information and menus: Gramercy Grill at 2685 Arbutus St (at West 11th Ave)
Pete’s Meat – Meat Shop & Deli in Arbutus Walk
Pete’s Meat is a great deli and meat shop. You can pick up a variety of meats to cook and serve at home, and they offer DELICIOUS sandwiches, soups and salads. Leave it to a proper meat shop to know how to dress a great sandwich. They have their specialities (think roast beef, pulled pork, Cubano’s, chicken pesto) as well as a deli sandwich that you can customize yourself. Otherwise, the shop offers sausages, chicken, red meats and more to purchase, along with spices, sauces, and other grocery items to ensure it’ll be filled with flavour at home. The staff are really knowledgeable and always happy to help with ideas and suggestions. You cna also makes requests online and pick it up when it’s in store.
For more information and menus: Pete’s Meat at 2817 Arbutus St (at West 12th Ave)
Temaki Sushi – Sushi in Arbutus Walk
Temaki Sushi is one of the best sushi places in Kitsilano – I loved this place when I lived in the area and will still travel here now that I live further away. The sushi is fresh, beautifully prepared and the room is well designed. You can watch the Japanese Chefs prepare your food too. You won’t be disappointed with what you order – they’ll do quick sushi orders, and bigger Japanese dinners.
For more information: Temaki Sushi at 2158 West Broadway Ave (at Yew St / Arbutus St)
Greens Organic Market – Grocery Store in Arbutus Walk
Greens Organic Market is just that: a smaller grocery store focusing on organic, natural and delicious products, produce, butchered meat, and health and wellness products. The prices are slightly higher, but the quality is good and the flavours are interesting. One of the best parts of the store is the hot section in the back that serves delicious, cooked meals including soups, salads, and daily specials. It’s definitely a good option if you’re looking for something home cooked and quick. There’s also a juice bar where you can find great concoctions to drink, or to do a juice cleanse via Inddigo Juice Bar.
For more information: Greens Organic Market at 1978 West Broadway (at Maple St)
Of course, there are many more great places to go in Arbutus Walk, and we’ll feature those in future blog posts. Let us know if you have any questions, or want any more information about Arbutus Walk!
